Sometime during his episcopacy Severus of Antioch wrote a letter to the clergy of Antaradus regarding a difficult set of circumstance surrounding their efforts to have a bishop ordained for their city and the case of Leontius, a deacon who had been disciplined because of his sin but was unrepentant and indeed sought to become head deacon.
